What the integration does
ZuzHQ connects to your Samsara account via Samsara's official API and continuously syncs vehicle GPS positions, driver hours of service, fuel consumption, DVIR reports, and engine diagnostic data into the TMS. Dispatchers see live truck positions on a map, the system checks driver HOS availability before assignments, and pickup/delivery times are recorded automatically from GPS arrival.
On the back-office side, jurisdiction-level mileage data is automatically allocated for IFTA reporting, fuel consumption is matched to the right truck and driver for cost analysis, and DVIR defects flow into the maintenance and compliance dashboards. There is no manual log entry, no separate Samsara dashboard to check, and no double data-entry.

How to connect Samsara to ZuzHQ

Generate a Samsara API token
In your Samsara dashboard, go to Settings > API Tokens and generate a new read-only token with access to vehicles, drivers, locations, and HOS data.

Add the token in ZuzHQ
In ZuzHQ, navigate to Settings > Integrations > Samsara and paste the API token. ZuzHQ verifies the connection and pulls your vehicle and driver list.

Map vehicles and drivers
Match each Samsara vehicle to its ZuzHQ truck record and each Samsara driver to its ZuzHQ driver record. Most carriers can use auto-match for matching unit numbers.

Confirm sync and start dispatching
ZuzHQ runs an initial backfill of recent location and HOS data. From this point forward, all Samsara data flows in continuously. You can start dispatching loads with live GPS and HOS-aware assignment immediately.
Samsara integration FAQ
Do I need a special Samsara plan to use the integration?
No. The standard Samsara API access included in most Samsara plans is sufficient. You don't need to upgrade your Samsara subscription to connect to ZuzHQ.
How often does data sync?
GPS and HOS data syncs in near real-time (every few minutes). DVIR reports and engine diagnostics sync as Samsara reports them. There's no manual refresh — the data is always current.
Can I disconnect Samsara at any time?
Yes. You can disconnect the integration from Settings > Integrations at any time. Disconnecting only stops the data flow into ZuzHQ — your Samsara account is unaffected.
Does the integration work with Samsara Asset Tags and trailer tracking?
Yes. ZuzHQ can ingest trailer tracking data from Samsara Asset Tags so trailer locations show up alongside truck positions on the dispatch map.
