ZuzHQ integrates natively with Motive (formerly KeepTruckin) so trucking carriers can stop running their TMS and ELD as separate disconnected systems. Connect your existing Motive account and get real-time GPS, HOS data, DVIR reports, and engine diagnostics flowing directly into your dispatch board, IFTA reporting, and compliance dashboard — without manual entry.
What the integration does
ZuzHQ connects to your Motive account via Motive's API and continuously syncs vehicle GPS positions, driver hours of service, fuel consumption, DVIR reports, and engine diagnostic data into the TMS. Dispatchers see live truck positions on a map, the system checks driver HOS availability before assignments, and pickup/delivery times are recorded automatically from GPS arrival.
On the back-office side, jurisdiction-level mileage data is automatically allocated for IFTA reporting, fuel consumption is matched to the right truck and driver, and DVIR defects flow into the maintenance and compliance dashboards. There is no manual log entry, no separate Motive dashboard to check, and no double data-entry.

How to connect Motive to ZuzHQ

Generate a Motive API token
In your Motive dashboard, go to Settings > Integrations > API and create a new API token with read access to vehicles, drivers, locations, and HOS data.

Add the token in ZuzHQ
In ZuzHQ, navigate to Settings > Integrations > Motive and paste the API token. ZuzHQ verifies the connection and pulls your vehicle and driver list.

Map vehicles and drivers
Match each Motive vehicle to its ZuzHQ truck record and each Motive driver to its ZuzHQ driver record. Auto-match works for matching unit numbers.

Confirm sync and start dispatching
ZuzHQ runs an initial backfill of recent location and HOS data. From this point forward, all Motive data flows in continuously, and you can start dispatching loads with live GPS and HOS-aware assignment immediately.
Motive integration FAQ
Do I need a special Motive plan to use the integration?
No. The standard Motive API access included in most Motive plans is sufficient. You don't need to upgrade your Motive subscription to connect to ZuzHQ.
Is Motive the same as KeepTruckin?
Yes. KeepTruckin rebranded as Motive in 2022. The ELD hardware, the platform, and the API are the same — only the company name changed. Both are supported by the ZuzHQ integration.
How often does Motive data sync?
GPS and HOS data syncs in near real-time (every few minutes). DVIR reports and engine diagnostics sync as Motive reports them. There's no manual refresh — the data is always current.
Can I use both Motive and Samsara at once?
Yes. ZuzHQ supports multiple ELD providers simultaneously, which is common for carriers that have acquired other fleets or are mid-migration between ELD vendors. Each truck is associated with its specific ELD provider in ZuzHQ.
